The thinking behind it
Start with the workplace. Find someone who covers it.
COSHH requires a thorough examination and test of local exhaust ventilation at least every 14 months, and the HSE says the people who examine it must be competent. Arranging that test starts with finding an examiner who understands the dust, fume or mist extraction at your site. We built LevHQ around that first job: locating LEV testing companies, understanding what they offer and getting an enquiry to the right place. The directory is available now. It does not carry out the examination itself.

Search around your postcode
A workplace postcode gives the search a practical starting point. Find published testing companies near the site, then discuss whether they cover your area and have experience with your type of extraction system, whether that is welding fume, wood dust or oil mist. A nearby address is useful context, but the examiner's competence still needs checking.

See who you are contacting
Directory entries give companies a place to publish their name, location and contact details. Use the information available on a listing to prepare questions about the work you need. Qualifications shown by a company, such as a BOHS P601 certificate, are its own claims; LevHQ does not independently verify them. The HSE is clear that a course alone does not make a person competent, so ask about experience with systems like yours.

Describe the work once
The quote request route lets a workplace ask up to three nearby testers about a job. Explain the site, the extraction systems and whether you need a thorough examination and test, a commissioning check or repairs, so recipients can respond to the same brief. Agree the examination scope, price and appointment directly with the company you choose.

Give testing companies a local presence
Testing businesses can use a basic directory listing to show their company name, town and phone number, and receive enquiries for their area. Fuller paid profiles are planned. Those upgrades are not open yet, and the separate tool for recording measurements and preparing reports remains in development.

Can I write LEV reports in LevHQ today?
No. The report builder is in development. The live product is the directory and its enquiry routes. A planned reporting tool should not be treated as an available part of a listing.
How often does LEV need a thorough examination and test?
The HSE's LEV guidance says an employer should arrange a thorough examination and test at least every 14 months, and more often where wear and tear could reduce the system's effectiveness sooner. Routine checks and maintenance continue between those examinations. Check the HSE guidance for your process rather than relying on a directory listing.
Does a listing mean a company has been certified by HQ Software?
No. LevHQ displays information supplied by companies and does not verify their qualification claims. Ask the examiner directly for evidence of relevant training and experience before appointing them.
Where do I find listing options and current availability?
Visit LevHQ for its current directory and information for testing companies. Basic listings are available; paid upgrades are not open. Contact the chosen tester directly about the price of an examination.
