A rowing club was running its bookings on spreadsheets and WhatsApp. Somebody had to fix that.

That somebody was Jason Burns, a rower at the club. He built Row HQ so the committee could stop chasing messages and see who was taking which boat out. Clubs in other sports had the same admin problem with different words for it, so SailHQ and KanuHQ followed, with GlideHQ in development.

The business tools came from the same habit. A workplace needs to find a company that tests local exhaust ventilation and get a quote moving. An owner with a faulty electric gate needs an engineer who covers their area. LevHQ is the directory for the first job. GateHQ is being built for the second.

HQ Software is the company behind all of them. It is one company, one founder, and a set of products that each do one thing.

Jason Burns writes the software and answers the email.

Jason is the registered director of HQ SOFTWARE LTD. He is based in Oundle, Northamptonshire, and runs the company from there. Alongside HQ Software he runs SEO Moves Ltd, an SEO business.

There is no support tier, no account manager and no call queue. When you write to us, the reply comes from the person who built the thing you are asking about. That cuts both ways. You get a straight answer quickly, and you get told when something is not built yet.

He still rows and coaches at Oundle Town Rowing Club, which is where Row HQ gets tested against real sessions, crews and boats every week.

We only build something when we have watched the manual version fail.

Every product on this site started as a specific problem for a specific kind of organisation: a rowing club, a sailing club, a canoe club, a gliding club, a workplace that needs its ventilation tested, an owner whose electric gate has stopped working. If we cannot describe the job in one sentence, we do not build the app.

Each product gets its own name, website, account and support route. Nothing is shared between them behind the scenes. A club's member records live in that club's app and nowhere else.

Features ship when they work, not when a roadmap says they should. That is why the catalogue marks GateHQ and GlideHQ as in development, and why LevHQ is described as a live directory rather than a finished suite. If a page here says a feature is planned, it is planned.
